This week is social media week and Glasgow is one of the host cities.
I was at the launch of Social Media Week Glasgow taking photos as an official photographer.
I won’t go too much detail about what was being said as you can watch the whole talk on the video below.
It kicked off with some quick words from Tim Wright from twintangibles

Followed by John McLeish of the sponsor Equator

Then some short words from Ben Scheim from Crowdcentric

Our first guest of the day and consequently of the week was Jeremy Gilley.
Filmmaker and founder of Peace One Day.
The organisation whose aim is to bring about a single day of cease fire or non conflict each year.
To steal a little quote from the man himself “how can you have 365 days of peace if you can’t have 1?”

I really enjoyed taking photos of him, he’s very expressive and totally passionate about this cause.
You can watch the video of Jeremy’s impassioned and insightful talk here.
It is well worth watching.
That was the end of the first half.
After a short lunch break and some frantic wifi bandwidth hogging from me we were into the second half featuring a discussion about Social Media and The Evolution of Breaking News.

The two guests were Peter Bale from CNN, on the left and Craig Hepbrun from Nokia on the right

Have you any idea how many times I’ve pulled off this shot.
I love getting a glimpse of what other people are shooting.

John McLeish & Jeremy Gilley at the aptly named ‘post match interview area’.

You can watch the full CNN/Nokia discussion here.
I’m at more Social Media Week Glasgow events later on in the week.
Tomorrow it’s “da Google”
